The WiiSpray 2nd Edition, is simply an awesome interactive device. The function of users creating, interacting and stretching boundaries of space and time with a digital medium is taking gaming and art to whole new level. Founded much earlier with traditional graffiti emerged with Nintendo technology was bound to happen. It’s earth friendly and clean.

Founded by Bauhaus University Media Department students Martin Lihs and Frank Matuse completed the 1st prototype. The WiiSpray is independent of platforms and is based on Adobe Flash, a »WiiiSpray server« how is based on the »WiiFlash server«, and standard »Wii« technology. The 2nd Edition is getting support from Montana spray cans.

Jon Trujillo ~ Design Process Book

Instructing at design and art schools, like most courses we include the ever so crafty process manual, that explains your thoughts and process of projects throughout the course. Time to time we get a chance to see creative talents unfold or skill sets practiced. One of our students, Jon Trujillo, created numerous works. Trujillo showcased nice typographic choices, simplistic ideas and great craft. Jon would discuss his conceptual ideas with us before he attempted any objective. See images: Process Manual, printed on book cover and hand bound. Constructivism poster and letterform studies to come as soon as he sends me the PDFs.

Alex R. Trujillo – Design/Art

Alex R. Trujillo
Here’s a recent work by our very own Alex R. Trujillo. Alex says he used a calligraphy pen with a fat nip tip, india ink and painted laying the canvas down to prevent drips. Alex strives to do something new and refreshing each time. Alex should stop going out so much and do more ART!!

Alex works as our designer here in Sacramento, raised in Vacaville, California.

New Type Face-Lift

After browsing several blogs this last week, I came across the logo for Zurcher Kammer Orchestra(ZKO), which immediately caught my attention. The ZKO logo was designed by Swiss designer, Gottlieb Soland in 1956. I see thick to thin letterforms with even values and diagonal accents. A minimal design.

“The Zurich Chamber Orchestra is versatile and flexible, its sound transparent, clear and focused. One of the most renown ensemble of its kind, it travels the world as ambassador for Zurich and Switzerland, while in its home in the ZKO-Haus or in the Tonhalle, it acts as host bringing people together through the power of music.”

So, it inspired me to design a new typeface logo for me. I’m Alex.

And a video….
