The Komplex by Alex Trujillo
Here’s a new art installment by Alex Trujillo. “The initial design idea was leaning towards cubism, using a combination of line work and airbrush. The final piece has gold iridescent gold in the black areas and is finished with a high gloss.”_A

This Friday November 20th, Alex-T will be playing a special 3 hour house set. Selections will be based on a long year traveling, warm/lush sounds, nectar for your ears. Alex runs, Visao, the net label and has been busy developing the next phase of audio/visual arts with collaborative groups.

“I have been toying around with several new mediums, iridescent metallics with airbrush and I absolutely love the deep dish canvas, it allowed me to glyph around all sides, adding to visual dimension. I am planning to do more layering of geometric shapes with iridescent colors, it’s great because you never know what the outcome will be. Legendary DJ, Behrouz will be playing at Lounge On 20 in Sacramento, California. It will be Lounge On 20’s One year Anniversary, Pink Party. August 29, 2009 – 8pm-2am. “In a class of his own and an undefined style to pin him to, he travels the world astounding dance fans all over.” Sacramento House Music.

Here’s a recent work by our very own Alex R. Trujillo. Alex says he used a calligraphy pen with a fat nip tip, india ink and painted laying the canvas down to prevent drips. Alex strives to do something new and refreshing each time. Alex should stop going out so much and do more ART!!
Alex works as our designer here in Sacramento, raised in Vacaville, California.
Pantone Peepshow – January 10th, 2009
The concept of Pantone Peepshow is a sneak peak into the lives of artists. The artists will share their process and perspective behind the art they create.
Pantone comes from the standardized color matching system(PMS) widely used between designers and printers. Part of the idea is how does art exist in physical space. This first show, we have selected artists with a similar styles, they are friends from previous art shows, current students at art/design schools and new friends. This show will be held at the Del Paso Works Gallery on Del Paso Blvd., show starts at 4pm, free!
Pantone Peepshow is a showcase of local designers/artists, hosted by Real Art Works. Real Art Works was founded at CSUS by Alex Trujillo. R.A.W.’s idea was to promote creativity amongst students in different areas of studies including graphic design, fine art, photography and music. The original idea was to have artists perform live art during the show. “I always envisioned events as entertainment showcasing different mediums by multiple artists. We are finally seeing the emergence of animation projections linked to music, which is something I always loved.”
Our future shows and collaborations will incorporate VJing, installations, design competitions and interactivity, where art meets science, like the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
Alex Trujillo is also the creator of the Sacramento’s first global online electronic music and product design resource center, Visaomedia.com and you may hear about another related show called S_CRET CITY, but that’s another story. Alex Trujillo works for Jeffrey DeMure + Associates Architects Planners and is also an Visual Communications Instructor at IADT Sacramento.
“We would also like to encourage everyone involved in Second Saturday events to respect and not exploit our creative culture. This should not be an excuse to party, but a time for us to educate our youth and spread positive awareness amongst each other.”

He’s been called “San Francisco’s very own tidal wave of techno”, and for good reason. Not only is Alland a resident, graphic designer and A&R for what is arguably the States’ most respected and notorious techno night, [KONTROL], he is also booked regularly alongside talents such as Superpitcher, Trentemoller, Swayzak, Miss Kittin, Modeselektor, Claude VonStroke, Jeff Samuel, Heartthrob, Ambivalent and many others. Alland has quickly grown to be one of the most in-demand Techno talents that SF has to offer, and after performing live at Seattle‘s Decibel Festival and DJing at Lovefest SF this year, it’s obvious that 2009 promises to be a huge year for both Alland and his label, Nightlight Music.

Clint Stewart
SF – Auralism Records, Nightlight Music
In a sea of heads, Clint Stewart can’t contain his enthusiasm. “It’s an amazing time for dance music,” says the Auralism assistant label manager. “There’s so much good music and an endless list of people making it. It’s inspiring.” Since joining the Auralism camp, Stewart has been “going 100 miles an hour, all day, every day,” playing high-profile DJ gigs with top artists among as well as a particularly sizzling set at SF’s annual LoveFest. In addition pounding the pavement for Auralism, Stewart has a growing list of productions out there, including a pair of ecstatic remixes for the label’s inaugural Aural Therapy 1.1 compilation. That’s a lot of work for a short time in a new town, but master multi-tasker Stewart’s just getting started.
