SoundCloud ~ June Chart by Alex-T

This is an excellent track, comes in with some heavy nice drums! Timing and overall sound is superb.

D-Nox & Beckers are on fire, another bomb track, don’t sleep on “cala la boca”.

Very nice spanish vocals, reminds me of “Una Rosa” when we heard it first in Ibiza at Amnesia.

Brilliant Key stabs, glitch booty-tech. Definitely a bomb, and supposedly a remix by Emerson Todd (where is it?).

This has nice vocal build, dark tech played by the likes of Richie Hawtin. Keen to flavored vector ribbons of colors.

Space Opening Fiesta 2009 ~ Ibiza

Space Opening Fiesta 2009

Session’s in!!
Ibiza Sonica is an electronic music site based in Ibiza, Spain. They broad casted the Space Opening Fiesta 2009, on May 31, 2009, which we got to relax to after our night in San Francisco with Danny Tenaglia. DJs: Deadmau5, Steve Lawler, Carl Cox were playing when we got on. We could only imagine, sitting on the private beaches, sipping Sangria enjoying life’s splendor on the Spanish island. You can still listen to streamed sets from various clubs and djs this season from Ibiza.

You can also download the 2008 Space Closing Fiesta sets by Ibiza Sonica’s Elio Riso and Dan Genacia.

We hope the International Music Summit, back to business, went well this year.

Munk One ~ Nature’s Curse // Upper Playground Shirt

Upper Playground ~ Munk One

DJ Alex T ~ Upper Playground

MUNK ONE ~ UPPER PLAYGROUND

Visao on the hunt again, we stopped into Upper Playground after our Paasche airbrush purchase, to see what’s new. Remember going into your local T-shirt store to buy the newest Cypress Hill or Beastie Boys shirt, but saw these crazy Slayer, Megadeth or Anthrax rocker shirts too? Munk One is the designer behind the Nature’s Curse shirts and many more at Upper Playground. We love the concept, vibrant colors and coverage across the shirt’s front. Great shirt for the DJ on the go.

Sensory Experience ~ The Alembic Bar, San Francisco

Sensory-Experience-Alembic-Bar-San-Francisco

Was it the worn leather seats at the bar that were beckoning us to come inside and stay a while…or was it the eclectic mix of vintage prohibition liquors that lined the smoked glass shelving on the decaying brick wall that were calling our names on a sunny Sunday afternoon? Either of those options are perfectly plausible, considering the locale of this modern speakeasy bar on the infamous Haight Street in San Francisco. The atmosphere of this Vaudville inspired bar channeled the quirkiness of Charlie Chaplin, the sex appeal of Mae West and the mystery of a Noir Film.

The Alembic Bar served much more than non traditional cocktails (that will knock you on your ass till next Thursday, might I add), they served class, style and a little bit of nostalgia…all in a vintage brandy glass. And that, my friends, is a rare find. So many times we plan our days and nights with no room for the unexpected, no room to experience something new and tantalizing. Letting go of preconceived notions of status and the need to be on a guest list every Friday night will open up opportunities to encounter something truly worth savoring, sip by sip.

Sensory-Experience-Alembic-Bar-San-Francisco

We are only speaking from experience. We didn’t know what we were missing until it wet our lips and stunned our eyes, leaving us wanting more authentic experiences, and wanting less of the fabricated ones. It easy to forget that fine taste and true culture exists outside the walls of the worlds hottest clubs and hotels, and that is what makes finding these gems so gratifying. So we challenge you to explore a place you have never been, check all your expectations at the door and see where your experience takes you. Live authentically, experience truth.

Autistic Interview ~ Italy

We found a young duo from Macerata, Italy, called Autistic. The Italians have a good sound, similar in taste, punchy and defined we would like to share their sound with you. To name a few: Italo Business, 303Lovers, Stereo Seven Records, Dandi & Ugo, Marshall, Libex, Jova, Piatto, Alex Kenji, Tractor Records, Hot Fingers and more.

Autistic is Stefano Valentini & Marco Massucci.

VM: How did you come up with the name “Autistic”?
A: The name was created in a strange situation, (better not to dicuss) then it seemed to be catchy name, so it stuck.

VM: You are young producers in electronic music. What got you interested in it?
A: We started djing first about 10 years old. Like most kids out here, our music is dance music, old techno, groovy & hard kicks, definitely makes us all happy.

VM: Describe what you like to hear in sound.
A: We really like vocals, in the last few months, strange melodies, various grooves with lots of rhythm.

VM: What software do you use?
A: We use logic 8.

VM: How do you approach each track you produce?
A: We approach and search for something new with each track, when we have found it, we start to think of the rest of the track. Cigarettes, bubble gum, and sandwiches helps. :)

4) Explain the Italian sound? 303Lovers, Stereo Seven, Italo Business, etc…
A: Each of these labels has a different side to them, they are all open to new artists, in fact in the last couple of months their style has varied. In Italy, there are only a few people that keep a high standard of the Italian sound, many artists use the same sound which becomes boring, like anything overused. We really respect Alex Kenji, Sara Galli, Marshall from 303lovers, Bertolini, Spartaque from Stereo Seven, there are so many talented artists, so many. :)

VM: Which of you tracks gets the best reaction from crowds at a party?
A: The one that gets best reaction is always Muse Ottuse” people like the powerful melody of the song.

VM: Do you have any hobbies outside of music?
A: Yes, we do but sometimes we spend too much time on music and we forget that there is a life outside the studio.

VM: What particular styles gets people moving in the clubs you play?
A: Marco really likes “kanio”, which is what people want, it’s easy to dance to and very rhythmic. Stefano likes “butch” which means less easy to dance to, we respect Stefano because his music is really difficult to make….good melodies…and a groove perfect for those melodies.

VM: Macerata, Italy is your hometown, a medieval historic country, if you guys were living back in old times what would be your profession?
A: We would like to be 2 solitary musicians along the road in the countryside, playing only with a guitar and a percussion.

Look out for their upcoming tracks: Indian Snake, Minimal Polizei with Kanio, Remixes with Steve Nocerino on Airbus.
