Music by Alex Trujillo.

Thursday, Nov. 5th, The Level Up Lounge – Outdoor Plaza, 8:20-10pm
Friday, Nov. 6th, The Urban Hive – 8:20-10pm
Saturday, Nov. 7th, MARRS Building – 8:20-10pm

What is Pecha Kucha Night?
“Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each – giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.

Pecha Kucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a† demand that seems to be global – as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 100 cities across the world.”

Pecha Kucha Night, devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (Klein Dytham Architecture), was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

The Melbourne Theatre Company, is a fascinating joint project in Australia, that combines architecture + music through construction. This facility comes equipped with state-of-the-art: drama theatre, rehearsal hall, cafe, lounge and bar. At night, the building’s exterior gives neighbors an architectonic grid-like lighting system notioning a sense of harmonic energy from within. (Did that make sense?) This would be great place for an audio exhibition by Donnacha Costello, but no Kanye West. 😛

“We are a leading edge design consultancy with a reputation for innovation, scholarship and creativity. We aim to make a real contribution to the life of our clients by understanding their culture and incorporating into their new environment the ideas which underpin that culture.”_ARM Learn More
